The Calf of Man is a small island separated from the main island of the Isle of Man by a narrow stretch of water. My husband and son recently stayed two nights as part of a group of local ornithologists. The visit inspired my father, John Corkish, to record what he remembers about a 1941 Fordson being taken out to the Calf in June 1943.
