THE BIGGER PICTURE

One has to admit, it is ironic that a phrase so commonly used to laud animals that are heavily endangered was coined by colonialera hunters in the 19th century, a term use to describe the most prized and dangerous animals to shoot and kill: elephant, rhino, leopard, Cape buffalo and lion.

Photographer Graeme Green believed a different context should be applied for our modern times: the term should celebrate the remarkable animals we share the planet with via photography. His ‘New Big 5’ initiative
