HORSING A ROUND
Emergency responders were called to an Australian home to rescue a horse that became trapped in a resident’s swimming pool. In a news release from the Country Fire Service in Victoria, the epic rescue team consisted of people from Hurstbridge and Research, as well as, Arthurs Creek Fire Brigade’s Large Animal Rescue Team and a Victoria State Emergency Service crew from Nillumbik. Firefighters explained the group had to be very quiet to avoid spooking the 17-year-old horse. Lisal O’Brien from Arthurs Creek Fire Brigade said, “Arriving at a large animal rescue is the complete flip side of arriving at a fire - we arrive quietly, with no lights and sirens, we turn the radios down - it’s totally opposite.” Volunteers were able to
