IT’S THE LAST CHANCE SALOON

Thirteen million ducks shot illegallywithlead(News,23 June) may only be an estimated number, but to our political masters it means that current legislation in regards to shooting ducks and geese in England is not being adhered to. As far as politicians are concerned, if the shooting community appears to show such contempt for the law, it can expect to be treated with contempt in return.

As always, it is the actions of the few that tarnish the law-abiding many.

We are looking at a voluntary five-year phase-out of lead shot, but we must be aware that this plan has been put forward by pro-shooting interests and is not official
