NOT FOR SALE ! LINDY HERRELL’S 1965 TYPE 2 KOMBI

VELVET GREEN PERFECTION
THIS ONE’S A KEEPER

Herrell VW Service opened its doors way back in 1969. Over time, the name changed and if you’ve been reading hotVWs for a while, you might recognize the new name: Herrell Bug Parts. About 45 years ago, a teenage Lindy Herrell began working at his father’s shop in Carrollton, Georgia, and he still runs the shop today. Overtoo many VWs to list. However, surprisingly, he never felt any of the Buses he built were what he dreamed of. In 2014, one of his friends turned him on to a 1965 Kombi that had been sitting and told him to check it out. Lindy says that it was “rusty, but better than average,” so he felt it was a perfect candidate for a complete restoration. After the inspection, the deal was made, and he got started on the build – a build that might finally become the “not for sale” Bus he always dreamed of.
