Presteigne Wales

Take a stroll down to the stone bridge over the River Lugg in the interval of a concert at St Andrew’s Church, Presteigne, and you can stand with one foot in England and the other in Wales, as the border runs through the river. Presteigne is the only Welsh town east of Offa’s Dyke, the eighth-century earthwork built to separate the two countries. Circled by hills, it has a unique atmosphere which lends itself to a late-summer escape.
