Gazing at my reflection in the mirror, I sighed as I scrutinised my face. ‘I look so old,’ I fretted, feeling sick at the sight of the wrinkles around my mouth and eyes. It was October 2014 and I was 42, but looked years older. From head to toe, my skin was wrinkled and sun-damaged, but I only had myself to blame.
Single and working in financial sales, I wanted to look my best in client meetings – and, for me, that meant a golden-brown tan.
For years, I’d been obsessed with having a sun-kissed glow, and went on sunbeds three times a week. I went away on several beach holidays
