Paving the way
WESTMINSTER CITY COUNCIL and the Crown estate have announced plans to ban vehicle traffic around Oxford Circus, W1. A design competition, hosted by the Royal Institute of British Architects, will deliver the final schemes by the end of this summer. Plans are expected to include a 150-yard pedestrianised zone on either side of the Oxford Street junction, with new planting and seating areas.
