BATHED IN SOUND

After the past 18 months we have experienced, it should not be surprising that many of us report feeling more anxious, depressed and stressed than we were pre-pandemic. Early in the pandemic, those who were able to, began to slow down and start to rediscover stress-reducing outlets that we used to not have time for. A sound bath is a form of meditation that helps participants reach a restorative, deep and healing, meditative state through sounds and vibrations from various instruments. The sounds and vibrations are created by brass or crystal bowls, drums, gongs, tuning forks, shakers, harps, Tingsha cymbals, Shruti box, bells and chimes. Sound baths are best experienced in-person, in which folks can sit or lie down comfortably in a dimly-lit room—picture
