CLOSURE AFTER MY PRISON TORTURE

HE HEAVED a sigh of relief when the judge read the verdict. The man he’d spent years trying to bring to book – for torturing and harassing him – was finally being ordered to pay for his actions.

South African businessman Daniel Janse van Rensburg was recently awarded R39 million in damages by the high court in Cape Town after suing Equatorial Guinea’s vice president, Teodoro Obiang Mangue.

Obiang is also a rap music entrepreneur, an international playboy and the favourite son of President Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, who, after 42 years in charge, is the world’s longest serving leader.
