there is something to be said for momentum – social and economic. It is a concept that has special bearing on human behaviour and expectations. Where a trend has firmly become established and enough people have come to expect that it will continue, momentum will accelerate. And it will dissipate just as fast. There have been many examples of momentum that have played out recently.
