DOCUMENTARY: THE PROPHET AND THE SPACE ALIENS (Sky Arts, 8.00pm). A light-hearted documentary about the loopy UFO religious cult founded by self-styled spiritual leader Raël (French journalist Claude Vorilhon), who claimed divine guidance from the aliens that first established life on Earth.
The Raëlians have had attention before, such as when they announced they had produced the first cloned human baby in 2002. Here, Israeli film-maker Yoav Shamir is happy to let Raël have his say and explore the world of his thousands of followers, which includes a village in Burkina Faso that witness his sermons via Skype from Raël’s home in Japan.
The first had Australian star Ruby Rose as television’s first non-animated gay superhero, but she bowed out after its initial run. This second season stays on mission diversity-wise, with its casting of black bisexual actress Javicia Leslie as the new Batwoman. Her homeless ex-convict Ryan Wilder takes over the suit after Rose’s character, Kate Kane, goes missing in a plane crash.
