Mum about town !

In the build up to my conversation with Mitali, I couldn’t help but feel a little nostalgic, reminiscing when I first began following @houseofmisu. I was a bright-eyed college kid, absolutely floored, watching the iconic duo Mitali and Summiyya, embrace fashion as nothing short of an art. Strutting the streets of Mumbai in the finest couture or trendy high street, the two were game-changers in the industry, even back then. Over the years, I witnessed them grow both in numbers and in charisma, and their fashion game grew from strength to strength—making them one of the country’s most sought after fashion and style influencers.

I was also one among lakhs, tuned in to both their glamorous weddings, and did my own little happy dance when Mitali announced she’d soon be welcoming her li’l bub. Since then, I threw my wish in the well, hoping M&B would now allow our paths to cross. For me, this was a full-circle moment I couldn’t help but share with Mitali, much to her delight!

As we settle in for our chat, she goes back in time to the moment she met her now husband Siddharth Patel. “We met in 2014 after I’d just gotten out of a relationship. Siddharth heard through the grapevine that I was single, and swooped in to try and woo me! He made his presence known everywhere I went. I guess he found me interesting and thought he’d shoot his shot. Initially, I thought he was a too-cool-for-school kinda playboy. But he was much more than that. Very grounded and down-to-earth (way more than I could claim to be), he was the more practical person
