Test fleet: Kawasaki Versys 1000S Grand Tourer

It’s been a long time coming but, with the country starting to open up again, I finally managed to take the Versys a bit further away from home on a three-day tour of the Cotswolds.

It was the first time I had ridden the bike with the hard panniers and top box fully loaded and a pillion on board too, but the Versys soaked up all that extra weight with no complaints. The weight is very noticeable and makes slow speed manoeuvring quite tricky, but as soon as you get going the bike feels well balanced and just as easy to ride as ever. It certainly doesn’t lack in power, even with all that baggage
