We all have grand designs on our home. We’d love the latest rug, the trendiest paint colour – and scented candles everywhere! But constant DIY and furniture consumption puts pressure on the planet. Homebase reported a big increase in demand for sustainable products last year. ‘Looking for greener alternatives for the home is a trend that’s here to stay, particularly as having an environmentally friendly home doesn’t need to be expensive,’ says trading director Chris O’Boyle.

The good news is that manufacturers are looking at their eco credentials and, by making small changes, we can make great strides towards a happier habitat. So, turn your next makeover into a greenover. Here’s how…
