Cobus is a local knifemaker and painter. This close-up is of an untitled oil-oncanvas from his series Quarantine, a body of work comprising more than 30 paintings that he created during the Covid-19 lockdown period.

The images are emotionally charged. Many deal thematically with paternalism and male dominance in our present time, and they often leave the viewer with more questions than answers – as good art should. (Also read our story on page 62.)

Di is a jewellery designer who has lived in Prince Albert for over 20 years. Before settling here, she designed jewellery in the UK and Germany. She loves to work with found objects – her collection Karoo Blues is spectacular! – but she also works with conventional gold, diamonds and all things glittery.
