We write this with sunshine streaming through the window, and this month’s Hot List – painstakingly whittled down, as it always is, from a massive longlist – singing through our speakers. Who knows how the world will look by the time you read this – for one thing we’re in Britain, so sod’s law it’ll be raining by then.
