When we last saw Ray Shoesmith, the hitman for hire – who’s also a dedicated family man – made the heartbreakingly selfless decision to help end his brother Bruce’s (Nicholas Cassim) suffering as motor neurone disease took hold. But it was far from easy and, when Mr Inbetween picks back up for its third and final season, it’s clear that Ray’s still coming to terms with his loss.

“I guess like anybody in a situation like magazine. “It’s something you’re going to carry with you for the rest of your life, and he does. So he’s dealing with that and he’s dealing with his daughter Brittany (Chika Yasumura) growing up – she’s getting a little older, a little wiser – and being single as well. He has a lot to deal with this season. Plus, he’s dealing with all the stuff that went down in season two as well – that all carries through.”
