COMMUNICATION in a language people can understand has been described as a “matter of life and death” in the context of the coronavirus pandemic.
In South Africa, where more than 30 indigenous languages are spoken, and 11 along with sign language are recognised for official communication, speakers at a webinar highlighted the role indigenous languages play in ensuring good communication
