Small Layouts

We can probably define people in our hobby in three ways:

• collectors,

• builders, and/or

• operators.

How many times do you hear someone say that they can not build a layout because they have not got the space — or maybe the time? Over the years in the Australian Model Railway Magazine (AMRM) we have seen some very well-built and well-presented smaller layouts that have given their owners considerable enjoyment both in their construction and operation. As the prototype is something that is always moving, it is a shame to have models that do not get the chance to be operated.
