AS A SCHOOLBOY , Ian Griffiths remembers visiting St Petersburg in his dreams. He fell under the spell of Tolstoy and Tchaikovsky, and was lured by the murder of Rasputin, Russia’s mystic monk. That led him to Prince Felix Yusupov – the protagonist of Max Mara’s resort ’21 collection – and to Lost Splendour, Yusupov’s autobiography, where he details how he helped orchestrate the infamous assassination in 1916.
