Little White Lies

Time and Tide

Blu-ray/DVD

Released 24 MAY

Tsui Hark is one of the world’s best features some of his greatest sequences. It follows a series of needlessly complicated segments that establish an overly complex plot in which young bruiser Tyler (Nicholas Tse) teams up with older pal Jack (Wu Bai), a butcher and former hitman, to take on a group of South American mercenaries. For some reason, both have pregnant partners they need to protect. While the story can be tricky to follow, the action never is – it is filmed and edited with a level of visual coherence that few other films manage to muster, while never sacrificing on scale, speed, ingenuity or flair.
