Philip-Jon, aka PJ, of Mission Beach, in north Queensland, was looking forward to the moment that his lovely mare, Shadow Of Silver Dreams, would produce her 2012 baby. But when he first saw the newborn filly, it was love at first sight.
Atalanta Acres Dream, by the ASH sire, Uralla Lord of Acres, arrived safely at 11am, as black as the night sky, with a big, perfect star on her forehead. The comments we always heard were consistent—‘she looks like Black Beauty’, ‘perfectly put together’, ‘now, there’s a showhorse’. We had no real idea about showing, and although we’d achieved some success with her dam, Shadow, even heading home with a few blues, it was all ‘sort of just fun’
