THE SKIN I’M IN

Holding back the tears, I didn’t want my boys, Masimo, three, and Ronaldo, one-and-a-half, to see how much pain I was in.

It was in January this year and for the boys, it was a day just like any other.

I could tell they were excited to see Mummy and were ready for fun-fuelled activities.

But, I could hardly walk and I’d woken up unable to move my head because my neck was so dry and cracked that it had started seeping.

Why do I have to live like this? I thought to myself.

But I knew I needed to stay strong for my boys – being a single mum makes it even more important to be.

They’re what gives me strength every day.

I was diagnosed with psoriasis at 11 years old.
