The German DKW firm became huge in the immediate postwar years. Their race team was large and rich in R&D resources. What I didn’t know was how little they got for their effort. DKW were able to push the power of their 120-degree 350cc triple as high as 42hp, dominating German national racing. But in GP racing they couldn’t beat the single-cylinder Guzzi that still looked a lot like the very first Guzzi ever built.
