THE 14th Annual AmeriCARna sponsored by Classic Cover Insurance started unofficially for early arrivals on Tuesday 23rd February. For those who arrived early, John Rae, the driving force behind Americarna, organised a run to the Urenui Hotel for some good pub food and a private aeroplane collection. For those keen, the option was there to do a scenic flight in a couple of restored fighter planes that can do barrel rolls and more dives than a Man United soccer player. Another special treat was a visit to the John Deere Maketawa Museum, which houses the biggest collection of restored two-cylinder JDs in the Southern Hemisphere.
