Putting things into perspective

I feel compelled to add comment to the lead/steel shot/plastic debate.

Firstly, I am appalled by how our shooting organisations have rolled over on this subject without the necessary debate or consultation from our sport’s participants. I am so angry that I will not be renewing any subscriptions.

The plastic situation is a no-brainer: it’s unsustainable and unnecessary, so let’s get back to paper cases and environmental acceptability.

As far as steel shot is concerned, I challenge any of our shooting associations or cartridge manufacturers to show that steel will perform as well as lead. I feel I am on very safe ground here, because in my view it does not.
