Back in the day, an outdoor shower meant a basic cold-water hookup to rinse off beach sand and seawater. Today this popular add-on is more likely to resemble its indoor counterpart, with plenty of hot water on tap, plus thoughtful extras, such as a bench seat to perch on, a place for towels and clothing, even walls and a door for privacy, as well as custom flourishes, from decorative wood cutouts to a vine-covered trellis roof overhead.
