Day In the Life of Marine Rescuers

Melbourne Zoo’s Marine Response Unit was formed in 2013. The team has responded to more than 2000 cases of injured or distressed animals along Victoria’s coastline, including seals, turtles, whales, dolphins and seabirds. They work with the zoo’s veterinary department to treat and rehabilitate injured animals so they can be released back into the wild.
