ARTISTIC TRANSITIONS
PRESTON MAX ALLEN is a man in transition. The playwright, composer, and “dedicated cat father” recently made the switch from penning musicals like We Are the Tigers to writing a so-called “straight” play.
The transgender artist began working on Modern Gentleman at the same time he started transitioning, but the story is not a memoir disguised as a play. The evolution of the project mirrored Allen’s own growth and transition as a writer.
