What do you think of the U.S. Mint’s new Authorized Bulk Purchase Program?

Good evening. I just started reading the new issue of and saw your solicitation for comments about the new Mint bulk purchase program. This seems very normal for the collectible world. I’m actually surprised it took this long. Collectibles such as trading card games are sent to distributors and local game stores before release so they can sell the product on release date, and have been since the early ’90s. Maybe now instead of waiting on the Mint, collectors can go to a local coin store. Or, better yet, they can pre-order a coin and not have to keep hitting refresh on the Mint site, hoping to check out in time
