HE CHRONICLES The made-in-NZ first was the best of the three Narnia films, which adapted the books of CS Lewis and started out as Disney’s answer to Hobbits and Harry Potter before the diminishing returns of subsequent instalments canned the franchise. Director Andrew Adamson was faithful to the book and had some impressive grown-up talent – such as Tilda Swinton as the White Witch – in supporting roles. But the four playing the Pevensie children were less than memorable. (2005)
