4 Create cyanotype images at home

Cyanotype printing is a process that was popular in the 19th century. This type of printing can easily be achieved at home, by using a negative or imprinting a sheet of UV-sensitive paper with an object. You can use natural light to expose the negative or paper, or instead use a UV bulb that can be sourced inexpensively.

Cyanotype printing involves a fair amount of trial and error – but once you are familiar with the process and have worked out the right timings, you will soon be able to produce your own distinctive and original cyanotype prints. This project will walk you through the process of creating a cyanotype print with an all-in-one kit (although you could also buy the components individually).
