THE WAY I WANT
I remember when, a few years ago, a message popped up on my Facebook feed highlighting previous posts. This post in particular asked me to answer certain things and one of the things I wrote was: “One day I am going to buy the car of my dreams. It’s going be broken, beat-up and I am going to fix it up the way I want… and that car will be a Mini.” The cool thing was I had managed that dream back in 2012, when I bought my first Mini, after dreaming of having one ever since I can remember. I had been partly inspired by my dad telling me about a Mini he had owned in the past. My first Mini was a complete rebuild project, a nut and bolt job, and I ended up selling it shortly after finishing it as we had our first baby on the way.
Fast forward to 2018 and, four days before his birthday, and one kid more, I saw an ad on a car sales app selling a 1973 Mini for a bit more than I wanted to spend. I live in Kuwait, where we have more classic
