Welcome!
goes without saying that all of us at love puzzles. And we know our readers do, too. Puzzles keep the brain active, and can be as social as you want them puzzles there’s the added benefit of being able to win amazing prizes. But there is also another kind of puzzle that has grown in popularity over the last year. Sales of jigsaw puzzles boomed during the various lockdowns that different parts of the country went through. I enjoyed watching, via Facebook, my friend Jane’s progress with the fiendishly difficult jigsaws she worked on during the second lockdown in Victoria. My friend Marcelle is also a gun jigsaw puzzler. I haven’t done one in a while and am going to plead the excuse that we don’t have the space. But after reading our item in Living Well this week (Page 62), I might have to rethink my position. Turns out jigsaws exercise both sides of the brain, can help alleviate stress, improve our memory and problem solving ability. If there are any demon jigsaw puzzlers reading this, I’d love to see some pics of your accomplishments! I also wanted to remind you all that the closing date for our Mum in a Million competition is April 11. If you haven’t entered your special mum, or one you know, then turn to page 23 right now. There’s a $2000 cash prize, plus a beautiful diamond necklace for the winner. And it will be an amazing tribute for a special mum. Because, let’s face it, they’re the best!
