Destination Taralga & Goulburn
Five things to do
1. Stay and dine: Treat yourself to a luxury weekend stay at the beautifully restored Victorian The Argyle Inn, Taralga, just 45km from Goulburn. The pub has eight comfortable guest rooms with en suites. Head downstairs to the marble-topped bar or out into the sunny courtyard for a tap beer. The formal grand dining area has a plush interior with period cedar seating, ornate plaster ceilings, chandeliers and abundant fresh rose bouquets. Dine on the best locally sourced seasonal produce and excellent wines curated from the region.
2. Walk: Kick off from the Historic Waterworks Museum, built between 1883 and 1885, on the banks of the Wollondilly River. It once supplied the town’s water and visitors can still see the fully restored pumphouse operational on “steaming days”. Enjoy a picnic and stroll along the beautiful 4km path of the Wollondilly River walkway, taking in its abundant fish and bird life.
