Support vessel joins gene quest

he 180ft Damen support vessel launched in 2020, has been renamed and tricked up to expand the scientific mission of its mothership, the 180ft Amels Inside are dry and wet research laboratories, conference space and cabins for up to eight guests. Scientist, entrepreneur and owner of Jonathan Rothberg, had used the mothership to carry out research, most recently with the goal of developing a widely available and rapid-result test for Covid-19. This extra instrument in the scientist’s toolbox will allow for a better separation of work and family life, and it will expand research capabilities while working offshore. “We are going to go after genes to combat he says. “In our planet’s very genes lie the answers to our biggest challenges and the key to our salvation.”
