When Narelda Jacobs and partner Stevie Cruz-Martin left the comfy confines of Perth for Sydney in 2020 amid the haze of the devastating bushfires, little did they know the world would have to face more challenges in the year ahead. “When we left in January, we thought we’d be able to return in March or April and then obviously the pandemic hit,” filmmaker Cruz-Martin, 34, tells WHO. “Jacobs has been away from her daughter now for nearly 15 months and that’s been really tough.”
