It was a trip that was always going to have special poignancy and a personal connection for the Prince of Wales. And when he and the Duchess of Cornwall visited Greece last week, it lived up to all expectations, with the heir to the throne being awarded a gold medal and the bond between the two countries clearly on display.
Prince Charles said he was “delighted” to be back in the country where his father was born 100 years ago in June, on the couple’s official two-day visit, their first international trip this year.
