Publisher honoured for giving dignity to the homeless

THE Denis Hurley Centre’s Barry Wood Award for Outstanding Service by a Volunteer was exactly what Avinesh Singh needed to lift his spirits during the lockdown.

Singh, 45, the owner of Micromega Publications, was recently given the accolade at the Durban Book Fair in Ballito.

This was for his work with the homeless and encouraging a culture of reading.
