Bali is recalibrating its internal clock to island time as this long lunch unfolds. It’s late December in 2020 and fashion designer Magali Pascal has joined forces with Bali tribe members Lindy Rama-Ellis and Cisco Tschurtschenthaler to celebrate the year that was.
“We feel privileged to be here,” says Pascal, a French expat who lives in Seseh with her two children and Australian photographer husband Matt Neville. “When the pandemic hit, it was never a question of leaving. It feels safe. All the houses are open, we have space around us and we live outside year round.”
