Great potential to increase SA’s agri trade surplus

South Africa’s agricultural exports amounted to US$10,2 billion (about R152 billion) in 2020, which was a 3% increase from the previous year. This was underpinned primarily by the high level of domestic agricultural output, supported by favourable weather conditions across most of the country’s main agricultural regions.

The relatively weaker rand also made South Africa’s products more competitive on the global market.
