BMW G 310 GS

It was a brave move by BMW applying the legendary GS badge to a bike built in India, in partnership with local manufacturer TVS, who also used the liquid-cooled 313cc engine in their own machines. A low-cost, low-performance bike, held aloft by the status of its badge, with the intention to crack into the emerging markets of the Indian subcontinent and other parts of the developing world. It was a big gamble in many ways, and in some ways it hasn’t completely paid off.
