Styled by legendary Ducati designer Pierre Terblanche and engineered by Harris here in the UK (now part of Royal Enfield), the Himalayan has been a surprise hit over the past three years. It’s also a bike I’ve personally used on numerous trips, including coast-to-coast across America, so do have an inherent bias towards it.
It’s not a perfect bike. Niggles persist, with dry head racer bearings, weeping head gaskets, misting clocks, and brakes that need a handful of fingers to haul you up. You could describe it
