2020 It Wasn’t All Bad

It goes without saying that 2020 won’t be a year that’s easy to forget. I mean, who will ever forget Novak Djokovic creaming a tennis ball into the throat of a poor line judge? Of course, as hilarious as that was (perhaps not for the stricken lady struggling to breathe), there were bigger stories this year that occupied more column inches. I’m talking, of course, about the launch of Little Mix The Search, one of the worst TV shows to ever be commissioned, and perhaps the clearest example yet of the BBC trying ITV themselves, and appeal to the lowest fathomable denominator.

Oh, that, and the world is on fire, there’s civil unrest across nations, with an American president fuelling the fires of racism and gender inequality, and we’re all living inside a disaster movie that’s seen hundreds of thousands of people die across the globe. But honestly, Little Mix The Search, eh? What were the Beeb thinking?

So, to distract ourselves, however temporarily, from such a cruel and unjust world, let’s remember that buried deep within this quagmire of shit (), there have been little moments to celebrate, to cherish, to puncture that bubble of shit, which… (where am I going with this?)… then falls down unto thee, in a hailstorm of-Nope, crossed metaphors, all sorts of a muddle,
