POSTURE PERFECT

HOW wonderful it was to see a picture of Pippa Funnell with a stick behind her back to improve her position (“Prepared to win”, 11 February).

I have “suffered” from round shoulders and not sitting up straight all my life, and as a teenager 40-odd years ago used to have to ride with a whip through my elbows. Usually I was the only one in a group lesson who had to ride like this and I felt very self-conscious about it, although it certainly helped my posture.
