NO MORE BUSINESS AS USUAL AT THE WTO

A BREATH of fresh air is sweeping through the World Trade Organization (WTO), with the first woman and African to ascend to the position of director-general at the only global body responsible for resolving trade disputes.

The new director-general, Dr Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, says that the definition of madness is continuing doing what you have done for years over and over again, but expecting different results.

She is determined to breathe new life into the WTO and be the fresh eyes and ears of the organisation, and above all to produce results.
