Cracking under pressure – ‘Tired Tyres’, or how old is too old for your classic rubber? It’s MoT time for my favourite big thumper, and that onceover eyeball to check all was well revealed it wasn’t. Instead I got a heart-sinking moment as I rumbled the rear tyre sidewall had developed a series of rather large splits since the last test. How very disappointing.

Away from the sidewalls, the chunky tread on the dual-purpose tyres still looked and felt MoT compliant.
