THE Covid-19 global pandemic has triggered unprecedented disruption and impact on our maintenance sector. We had to hardwire to problem solve and never before had our problems become so wicked and complex.

We had to navigate some of the most significant challenges, from embedding critical technology to redesigning systems and processes for the hospital. The entire hospital facility had to be reconfigured to be compliant with the Covid-19 national protocols.

The capacity of the hospital was drastically reduced in the process. Old wards had to be converted into a functional Covid-19 ward within days. Air-conditioning and ventilation systems required urgent modification to be compliant with regulations. The modifications were required to be done during the hard lockdown, which posed procurement challenges for businesses. The tasks had to be carefully planned as much of this work had to be done in the restricted Covid
