At Least 5 People Dead After Texas Interstate Crash Involving At Least 75 Vehicles

A Fort Worth police spokesperson said between 75 and 100 vehicles appear to have been involved in the Thursday morning crash, which authorities declared a "mass casualty event."

At least five people are dead following a massive pileup on an icy stretch of interstate in Fort Worth, Texas early Thursday morning that involved between 75 and 100 vehicles, a Fort Worth police spokesperson told NPR.

The accident on Interstate 35 West, just north of downtown Fort Worth, around 6:00 a.m. local time. Authorities it a mass casualty event, meaning the number of patients exceeds the local available resources.
